So the news has not been great for traveling with Covid still raising havoc, but if you need a vacation to feel sane and safe, you must visit Isla Bella Beach Resort in Marathon. Located at the entryway of the iconic Seven Mile Bridge, Isla Bella Beach Resort is two hours from Miami and just an hour from Key West. Isla bella’s property is a little piece of heaven.
Upon arrival, a winding tropical garden of over 1,000 palm trees made me feel transported to a private island. I did not feel I was in Florida anymore. The property boasts 24 acres on Knights Key in Marathon. The resort has five swimming pools, multiple dining options, sandy beach, spa, fitness center, Marketplace and more on site activities than you can imagine. Whether single, honeymooners, or family with kids, dog owner (Dog-lovers are always welcome and can enjoy time with their four legged friend at the resort’s dedicated dog park) this resort has plenty for everyone.
THE ROOMS
Accommodations…..stunning! Our room was bright and cheerful all blue and white, very nautical themed. In every room also you can enjoy unobstructed views of the Atlantic ocean, from your private outdoor living space. The furnishings were lovely and inviting. The bathroom was immaculate and had luxurious Molten Brown bath amenities.
ACTIVITIES
Firstly, let’s check out activities. From sunrise yoga to sunset celebrations, Isla Bella’s vast amenities, on-site activities and unique programming create enduring experiences. Of course there are water sports. A fabulous pool, actually five of them. Want to play a game? There is life-size connect four, chess, corn hole.
Also visit the marketplace, and borrow snorkeling equipment and kayaks to use for the day. Or pick up a bike located outside the marketplace and go for a ride. All are included in your resort fee.
Let’s talk programming, a weekly schedule of classes and games are provided to you as soon as you check in. I had an epic life-size jenga match. It lasted an hour long, and actually drew a crowd. Bet on a hermit crab (damn you #4 for not winning), in hermit crab races, gained some knowledge of more facts in trivia, and got my Bingo on!
GYM & SPA
The gym is quite large for a hotel gym. They even had 3 Peloton bikes! Currently strict COVID-19 procedures are in place, and you must reserve your gym time in advance. Consqequently only four people can visit at a time. While I did not enjoy a spa treatment, I did stop by the 4,000 sq. ft. tranquil and luxurious full-service spa. It features a serene relaxation room and five dedicated treatment rooms, lounge, couples massage room, steam room and dedicated spa garden.
FOOD
There are many options on property and also the Marketplace where you can purchase snack, light meals, coffee, alcoholic beverages and gelato. Everything you could possibly need to enjoy from your private balcony or take a walk to the beach and have a picnic.
The Beach Bar – We ate here the most. A casual atmosphere, with 360 views of the water. Offers a menu of fresh seafood and other dishes designed to pair perfectly with cocktails as well as daily live music.
Il Postino – Looking to have a romantic meal. Il Positano is an Italian restaurant specializing in hand-made Neapolitan pizza from a traditional wood-fired oven, fresh pasta and more.
We also ventured off property for a few meals, as there are many awesome restaurants nearby. I highly recommend a visit to Irie eats! It is a built out food truck with dishes from the freshest ingredients, all from the connected farmers market.
So, if you want a great destination within the USA, definitely add Isla Bella Beach Resort in Marathon Fl to your wish list. No matter your age or marital status, you will love this resort. The rooms, food, spa, entertainment, and activities as well as the physical property make it a fabulous choice, and it’s affordable too so reserve now!
